Intelligent algorithms and mapping

Enlitened’s unique data-set enables our intelligent algorithms to find low-performing groups in any of our 21 evidence-based subscales, in any segment of the student population, and highlight them alongside related student-generated and supported ideas.

A subset of our questions is mapped to the NSS, with additional focus on core TEF questions and those with high correlations
to student satisfaction.

Student anonymity and representation

We fully protect student anonymity. Universities cannot see which students have submitted or supported ideas or answered questions. And universities cannot run reports with less than five students in them. Individual data is not shared with the university.*

Including equal opportunities data from student records, and accessible design (WCAG 2.1 AA target), ensures under-represented groups can be prioritised to help with access & participation activities.

* Within an Office for Students-funded mental health research project (with UUK involvement), we will explore, in a single university, whether students can benefit from high-level Enlitened data being analysed by university analytics systems, to flag potential wellbeing issues to support services. We will obtain clear, specific explicit additional student consent to do this, and it will be optional.
